SUPPORT RAISING

As a 501(c)3 religious non-profit whose clients are other 501(c)3 religious non-profits, Concilium derives much of its income from private donations. Full-time staff are required to raise a significant percentage of their income according to an established pay scale. Part-time staff may be paid hourly without the need to raise support as funds are available in their department’s budget.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Finance Director (FD) is responsible for all flows of finances within Concilium as well as some related admin duties. The FD will support Concilium’s mission and vision through effective financial management, oversight of donations, and ensuring financial integrity throughout the organization. The FD oversees the financial operations, including supervising finance employees, consultants, and other relevant relationships to advance Concilium’s mission and vision. This includes supporting Concilium’s five-fold ministry of Training, Strategic Analysis, Crisis Management, Member Care, and International Relations by providing budget oversight and ensuring proper allocation of resources.

The FD is responsible for engaging with various stakeholders to build relationships and secure strategic financial partnerships with donors, institutions, students, and financial entities in the public and private sectors in support of Concilium’s financial sustainability and growth.

The FD supports other Concilium staff in the ministry and mission by ensuring robust financial systems and reporting that enable Concilium to help Christians of all ages around the world to serve the Lord with boldness, legitimacy, and competence toward reaching every language, people, tribe, and nation with the Gospel.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Work experience in a nonprofit environment
  • Work experience in a business accounting setting (preferably accounting, tax, or finance)
  • Knowledge of the products
  • Experience in AP, AR, tax filings, account reconciliations
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of credit card collection platforms and their integration with websites
  • Knowledge of nonprofit donation receipting and donor relations
  • Uphold a close and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, including proficiency in evaluating and prioritizing issues
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality, poise, and tact
  • Ability to work well under pressure and against deadlines
