Training & Equipping

Through promoting a biblical understanding of best practices in personal safety and corporate security-risk and crisis management, Concilium provides leadership, training, and guidance to Christian individuals, churches, ministries, and NGOs, transforming the way they think about and respond to the varied and ongoing challenges of ministry and mission service.

Discretion will watch over you, understanding will guard you.

Proverbs 2:11

Every Concilium training course begins by establishing a Biblical foundation by which faith-based workers are to be trained in personal security. The foundation is called “Security in the Context of Ministry (SICM).

SICM begins with a cornerstone of theology of risk which rights the foundation in both a theological and practical nature.

Built upon the SICM foundation are the core safety and security principles that are universal to all of Concilium’s training. These key principles impact every faith- based worker, regardless of their location or ministry.

With this common foundation, Concilium can focus training on the various threats and other challenges associated with ministry specific to the CAST, RACE, and HEAT programs. Likewise, throughout Concilium’s different programs the crimson thread of the gospel is woven, maintaining the Gospel as the highest value and the safety of God’s people as the highest priority. The goal of all of Concilium’s training is to help Christians understand that Great Commission requires risk, and that God has defined a process for gauging and mitigating risk in through His word, the Bible.

Executive Protection Training & Security Consulting

In today’s operating environment, leaders and public-facing figures face increasingly complex and unpredictable threats. Recent global events have reinforced the need for organizations—particularly mission-driven and faith-based ones—to approach executive safety with professionalism, preparation, and clear purpose.

Concilium provides tailored executive protection (EP) training and security consulting designed specifically for faith-based organizations, NGOs, and mission-driven institutions operating within unique risk profiles, constrained resources, and often-global footprints.

We recognize that many organizations require professional protective capability without the scale, staffing, or infrastructure of traditional corporate security programs. Our work intentionally bridges that gap—delivering practical, scalable, and mission-aligned protection solutions that respect both operational realities and organizational values.

Who We Serve

Our executive protection programs are designed for organizations such as:

  • Churches and faith-based institutions providing part-time or event-based protection for pastors, visiting speakers, and senior leadership
  • NGOs and humanitarian organizations with domestic and international operations
  • Faith-based organizations deploying executives, donors, or VIPs into higher-risk environments
  • Small protective teams operating with limited manpower, time, and budget

We specialize in supporting clients whose mission context demands security solutions that are discreet, ethical, legally sound, and aligned with ministry or humanitarian objectives—without undermining credibility, hospitality, or witness.

Our Approach

Concilium delivers customized consulting and training led by experienced executive protection professionals who understand:

  • The operational realities of small and part-time protective teams
  • Budgetary and staffing constraints common to nonprofit and ministry environments
  • The tension between visible security and welcoming, relational spaces
  • Cultural, theological, and reputational sensitivities unique to faith-based and humanitarian work

All training and consulting engagements are adapted to your mission set, operating environment, and organizational structure. Our goal is not to impose a one-size-fits-all EP model, but to help organizations build protection capability that is proportionate, sustainable, and aligned with their risk capacity.

Consulting Services

Organizations may engage Concilium for support including:

  • Development of executive protection programs from the ground up
  • Risk-informed security planning for domestic and international travel
  • Protective posture and vulnerability assessments
  • Policy, protocol, and governance development
  • Integration of security practices into ministry, nonprofit, or humanitarian operations

Our consulting emphasizes prevention, preparedness, and clarity—reducing uncertainty rather than attempting to eliminate risk.

Training Programs

Concilium offers modular executive protection training packages that can be delivered as stand-alone courses or integrated into a comprehensive EP development pathway.

Training components may include:

  • Administrative and legal considerations for establishing an EP function
  • Fitness-for-duty standards and readiness expectations
  • Executive protection team roles and responsibilities
  • Small-team protective operations (1–5+ personnel)
  • Advance work (domestic and international considerations)
  • Overt versus discreet protection strategies
  • Arrival and departure procedures
  • Venue security and event planning
  • Vehicle dynamics and protective driving safety
  • Motorcade operations
  • Immediate action and response to attacks or incidents
  • Tactical and trauma medical considerations
  • Weapons handling considerations (where legally appropriate and mission-aligned)
  • Coordination with other protective teams, local partners, and authorities

Training is grounded in real-world application and designed to build competence, judgment, and disciplined decision-making.

Built for Mission-Driven Protection

Concilium’s executive protection philosophy recognizes that security in ministry and nonprofit environments must be:

  • Professional without being intrusive
  • Effective without being excessive
  • Sustainable within real-world resource constraints

Our work equips organizations to protect people and missions with confidence, competence, and clarity—so leaders can focus on their calling, not their vulnerability.
